Planning a more sustainable future with EDU.PRO

In 2015, the UN set an ambitious 15-year plan to address some of the most pressing issues faced by the world. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a universal call for action to ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The 17 SDGs are integrated as they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others. By supporting our members to maximize the benefits of managing their institutions efficiently and effectively, we’re helping to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). EDU.PRO helps to change education institutes’ approach to corporate sustainability and drive progress towards these goals. Here are some highlights of how we work with partners to advance specific SDGs.

SDG 4: QUALITY EDUCATION

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The pandemic-forced global shutdown of public spaces, drove a rapid migration to remote teaching. If we’ve learned one thing from Covid, it’s that we have to adapt to survive; so online learning has gained a firmer foothold in the educational sector. With the EDU.PRO the e-learning feature helps education institutions to play a prominent role in sustainable education by adapting a full electronic learning experience from organizing virtual classrooms to conducting lectures anytime from any spot in the world.

SDG 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

Breaking the vicious circle of poor education, low productivity and persistent poverty is crucial for promoting inclusive economic growth and decent jobs for all. Our Graduates Development Programme supports young people especially to get decent jobs and keep up with changing skills needed for the labour market;  as well as, anticipating and building competencies for the jobs of the future. Also, this can contribute to facilitating the transition from the informal to the formal economy.

SDG 9: INDUSTRY, INNOVATION + INFRASTRUCTURE

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

We collaborate with our partners to provide educational institutions with sustainable, reliable, resilient, and high-speed infrastructure.

SDG 15: LIFE ON LAND

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Forests cover almost a third of the world’s land area and more than a billion people rely on them for their livelihoods. However, the World Resources Institute (WRI) reports that, globally, tree cover loss has accelerated by 51%, resulting in the loss of an area the size of New Zealand. We support halting deforestation with our innovative products to protect the ecosystem and reserve land degradation by cutting the paperwork to digitalized and automated operations.

SDG 17: PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for sustainable development.

Partnerships among governments, civil society, the private sector and other communities are essential to meeting the multifaceted opportunities of the SDGs. HASH takes a partnerships-first approach to accelerate progress on the SDGs, working with and equipping partners with the resources they need to make real-world impact that the SDGs demand.
